Side Event of the Coalition for Sustainable Development of Russia at the 2021 Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the UNECE Region

The Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the UNECE Region will take place on 10-18 March 2021 as virtual and hybrid meetings. This year the Regional Forum is focused on sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and experiences from the region with Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs).

The Coalition for Sustainable Development of Russia co-organises one of the side events of the Regional Forum titled “Follow-up Process after First VNRs in Eastern Europe and Central Asia” which will be held in the form of an online discussion.

The majority of Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries from the post-Soviet block presented their first VNRs last year. In order to ensure that progress on the SDGs doesnʼt slow down and the fair recovery is implemented, in this event, we propose to discuss the follow-up process on SDG implementation. This session will overview what has been done after VNRs, the current situation, challenges and provide recommendations for the UNECE region from the civil society side. The event is initiated by the representatives of civil society from Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Russia.

The event programme can be found here. The event will be held in Russian, with simultaneous translation into English and French.
